Hi there,
Recently I had some issues delivering demo installers to potential customers. They were getting very slow speeds from USA at our main server located in Italy / EU.
So I'd like to know how do you deal with file delivery. I'm considering hosting in a service like Dropbox or Google Drive, but I'm not sure how well does it work with direct links and I don't want getting a quota limit reached surprise
The price target would be ideally free, since the files are relatively small considering nowadays standards, but I'd appreciate commercial solutions as well. Thanks!

Yes, the usual ones are Amazon S3, Dropbox and OneDrive. There are also other cloud services like Sync.com but I'd like to know opinions from developers using their services to see how well they work.

I'm not a developer, just happened to see the topic, but you might want to look at Box.
You can get 10Gb of storage for free and AFAIK it's fully accessible.

hubiC offers you 25 gb for free: https://hubic.com/en/
Local client for replication/sync.
Dropbox has better UI / reliability but a smaller free tier, and absurd pricing.

Box gives you 10GB free ... seems reliable. I've used it for years without any issues.

Of course not.
Google Drive has ~1250Mb daily traffic limit. You may try with it.
I doubt that you will find anything cheaper than Amazon S3, Azure or Google Cloud for storage for high traffic.

Indeed. Most companies uses S3. For example IZotope uses S3 for downloads. If they are using it, you will be fine too.

As an alternative, Digital Ocean Spaces has a flat $5/mo for 250GB storage and 1TB/mo outbound transfer.
I use their compute droplets for a few things and it's really easy to setup.
I have no idea if that would cheaper than Amazon S3 because their pricing is a huge mystery to me.
Edit: If you use this link it'll get you some credit that'll give you two months free: http://www.digitalocean.com/?refcode=7d8d4752d108

They may no longer do this but if you've got an iphone and you use it to setup a box account using the app, they give you 40GB. It is limited to max file size of 250mb though.
You get 50GB free with mega.co.nz too. I've always found them to be pretty fast and efficient.

The thing with free services is not the file size storage but transfer quotas. For example MEGA or BOX offer big chunks of storage but as soon as you reach a daily transfer of let's say 1 GB they will stop delivering files or even cancel the account.
