I did some of my first programming on a Sequential Circuits Prophet 5.
I had to think long and hard about which hardware synth to buy because they were very expensive (US $3,995 ouch).
Some great Artist were using it: Jean-Michel Jarre, Peter Gabriel, Brian Eno, Vangelis.
Those were the sounds I wanted and the Prophet 5 was making them.
Zoom forward to the new generation, soft-synths.
When U-he released Repro-5 I was pleasantly impressed that finally someone had made a software based synth that sounded like the original hardware.
