A bank of presets for U-He - Repro-5
Full preview: https://youtu.be/-M1Y1RcVkzM

The bank consists of:
- 18 Leads - 0:23
- 13 Keys - 5:52
- 16 Synths - 9:15
- 15 Pads - 13:35
- 11 Plucks - 19:06
- 16 Basses - 21:22
- 11 FXs - 25:12
A hundred in total.

There are harsh, metallic, powerful sounds, as well as mild, intimate and soft ones. Some timbres are quite well-known, classic and must-have, others are experimental, unique and never heard before (supposedly). All the sounds are universal and suitable for every modern genre. It depends on your imagination.

Each patch has a short description with my vision of how to use a patch, e.g. nice at low notes, use it for sequences or arpeggios.
Also there is some technical information, e.g. Mod Wheel influences on the brightness of the sound.
Sections «Categories», «Features» and «Character» are thoroughly filled, so you can easily find a needed sound with the help of tags.

rukaav,
You have some nice sounding youtube audio demos. Just recently, I was in the shower, and thought about Prodigy's "Smack My B Up" lead synth sound, and wondered how they got that sound. You came pretty darn close. Thank you for the free patches! I was hoping someone would revive this thread.

does anyone know if Re-Pro comes with (or does anyone have) a "Burning Down the House" preset?
Talking Heads fans will know what I'm on about.
cheers

I tried to come up with something in the ballpark a few weekends ago with RePro-5 and came up with the attached. I suspect the studio version also has some kind of wah or auto-wah on it too, which makes it sound extra "squishy" in addition to the sync sweep of the lead. So experiment with adding an auto-wah type effect on it too.

So, I'll say, nowhere near exact but maybe this can act as a jumping off point. If anyone can better it, I'd definitely be interested. I LOVE that entire album, and there's a Prophet all over it.

sqigIs and Funkybot's Evil Twin,
Thank you for the patch, I will try it out later. Off and on I have subscribed to or purchased Keyboard magazine: somewhat recently they merged with Electronic Musician magazine. It was probably several months ago I was lobbying for the exact sound sqigIs asked for. It was probably in the 80's (1985 according to an internet source) when Keyboard magazine had an interview with a Talking Heads keyboardist (and guitarist) Jerry Harrison. Jerry said he (or Wally Badarou according to the internet) used a Prophet 5 with a Boss T Wah pedal. I've have seen several videos with the T Wah pedal on guitar, and it hardly sounded extraordinary to me, but it sure sounds great on the lead synth of "Burning Down the House". I have used a Jim Dunlop Cry-Baby wah-wah pedal on a real life Sequential Circuits Pro-One I still own. Not one of my better tunes overall, but it worked well for the sound. I have yet to try my wah pedal with a Prophet 5 emulation (I own 2, including Repro), that I recall, but maybe I should. I think I've tried at least one wah-wah plug-in with a Prophet 5 emulation and it wasn't that good.

Yeah I knew it was a Pro5 through a T Wah, just putting the feelers out :P
figured the factory patches might include the sound seeing it's a CLASSIC.

Cytomic's The Drop is a dual filter plugin with lots of modulation options and filter models. Probably the only other modeled filters that are as good as U-he's.

FET,
Thank you for answering my question.

Everybody,
I took Funkybot's Evil Twin's patch, and made a number of tweaks to it. Make sure you use the Mod Wheel, as this patch gives somewhat of a pseudo-wah effect. Check out the attached patch. If anyone can come up with anything better, please share it.

This is pretty good. I think the filter effect via modwheel is still too aggressive, but I've yet to find a wah, auto or otherwise, that I love with this. One suggestion: try it with 5 voices instead of 8 (remember the OG was a 5 voice synth so those 3 less voices in unison will get it closer).

apparently David liked the T Wah cos it sounded so crap :P

FET, sqigls, and all other human life forms,
One thing that is nice about Repro-5 is that you can adjust the little indicators on the side of the Mod Wheel so it doesn't affect things so drastically if you feel full Mod Wheel application affects things too much. I have yet to try this with Repro, but it sounded good to me on the guitar demo videos with this Kuassa wah-wah plug-in:

https://www.kuassa.com/downloads/?_ga=2 ... 1500795258

I didn't feel it competes with any u-he product, so I didn't feel any guilt about posting it here. If anyone thinks it is not appropriate, I will delete the Kuassa link from this post.

Edit:
I tried that Kuassa wah plug-in a bit with Repro-5, though I did not come across any fabulous sounds.

Hi guys,
do we have this preset in the RP1 or RP5 factory?

You can clearly make out the Arturia settings in the video so recreating it should be as simple as trying to approximate and account for the differences in parameter ranges and approximating the effects. Shouldn't be too tough.
