Got this for free, don‘t need a guitar to sound like Metallica anymore...
What do you guitarists think about the amp sims inside?

I don't think Trash is targeting amp simulations, it's more of a broader application of distortion and filters.
Having said that, you can get some pretty damn good sounds from guitars through it - probably more tweak able than the average amp sim.

Yeah, think sounds like U2's "Discotheque" - something that might sound awful but cool in the right context, but you would never want as an everyday sound.
Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.

Personally, I would never use Trash 2 for the main guitar tone of a metal track, but it is great for experimental stuff. I use the IRs a lot for stuff that isn't exactly guitar but is supposed to sound like one.
If you can get a genuinely great metal rhythm tone out of Trash 2, you can probably get one out of anything.
