I've seen more than my fair share of madolin players reaching to the upper register no problem.
I've never had any issues with the upper frets on LP's but I have "average" hands.
Jazz players often refer to that region as the "dusty end of the neck"

I think the fact that mandolin strings are paired makes it a little easier as my fingers have to be at right angles to the neck to play the higher frets. After a point I have to be very careful of finger position as I just can’t touch the neck behind the fret.

You know what is always weird about buying a new guitar online, you expect the strings to be ok. Not the case. I was having tuning issues (slightly) and went to put some nut sauce on (not sure what gauge I want to use) and POP went one of the strings. Not a break but off the nut. You see, dumb dumb here didn't check for all the string locks to be tight.
So I went down to GC and got another pack of 9's (still not decided) and found gunk ( ? ) on the nut on just a couple of strings, cleaned all that up, put on the new strings and WALLA. Instant better everything.
I didn't know it could get better

Raven West is a defunct company. They used to have guitars built in Korea and later china. Then shipped to a US warehouse and marketed independently. I think that the Korean ones were Cort built. The models were based on popular models of american and Japanese brands. They were actually pretty nice slightly above entry level guitar pricing.
The pitch was that the owner would setup and test every guitar sold. I got 450 which is a full hollowbody similar to a PRS
Mine was considerably more ornate with a tobacco sunburst finish, gold hardware and vine inlay. The guitar did not have a centerblock running from the neck to the stop tail. Instead a smaller block is positioned to cover the stop tail piece and the bridge. It allows more air to pass through. Though lacking in depth it sounds much more hollow body like a Epiphone Casino.
Anyway. I get the guitar "new" from the US warehouse... The strings are dirty as heck. The fretboard hasn't been polished (it's gritty as all get up) Surprisingly. The guitar is perfectly setup and in tune.
It's something that amazes me is that If I buy something like a budget CIC Jackson the thing comes ready to play with polished frets but more expensive guitars don't.

I sent the Eastman back. String spacing was awkward, frets felt a little like speed bumps, even after a full fret dress and setup.
I'm getting a Martin D-17M (2nd hand near mint) as a replacement. If I don't like that, I'm just gonna get my money back and fugedaboudit.

I'm thinking about one of these:
But that raw tone is a MUST and it's not returnable If something wasn't cool I'd be screwed.
Sure is beautiful. It's a hardtail but not "metal" like the one I have. The pickguard with the chrome pups looks nice Definitely not do the reversed headstock though.
