Colour Copy bug

Trying this on the VST2 version of Colour Copy in Reaper and Renoise on Fedora 29. I want to set MIDI on the plugin, when I go to select the gear on the top right hand side, my entire DAW crashes. This only happens on this particular plugin, not any of the other U-he ones I own:

Diva
Presswerk
Satin
Twangström

Make sure these files have execute privilege:
~/.u-he/ColourCopy/dialog
~/.u-he/ColourCopy/dialog.64
The binary dialog.64 is how U-he displays modal windows for save dialog, plus other settings.

-rwxr-xr-x. 1 awright awright 200 May 4 19:19 dialog
-rwxr-xr-x. 1 awright awright 253200 May 4 19:19 dialog.64

I haven't modified any files. I'm testing this on another PC and it's still happening in both Reaper and Renoise.

Is this going to be addressed? I see the latest Linux version is still 8256. I'd like to be able to automate MIDI, but I can't get into that panel because of the bug.

The crash also occurs with CoCo in Reaper. Too fast to
even hear the thud :hyper:

I loaded Bazille, and made a couple of learns that work fine.
(also fine in ACE

-edit- actually, not fine at all in ACE,
see my later post down the page)

and Repro5)
I then added CoCo to that Bazille track,
and clicking it's gear icon
also crashed that whole thang.
Cheers

Did some more checking with midi learn,
using Reaper 5.978, current Arch Manjaro, with nvidia nouveau graphics,
and kernel 4.14.121-1-MANJARO #1 SMP PREEMPT.

the coco beta 0.9 worked fine here for midi learn,
while the newest version brings an instant crash
as mentioned above.

Further tested on Reaper 5.978, current Arch Manjaro, with nvidia nouveau graphics, and kernel 4.14.121-1-MANJARO #1 SMP PREEMPT :

In ACE 1.4, opening the midi-learn page takes about 15 seconds
after clicking the gear icon, and about half that long for the white dial to appear after a click.

Unlearning was inconsistant, too long or mostly way too long to take effect.

On the bright side, Bazille, BazilleCM, Diva, Hive, Podolski, Repro1/5, Twangstrom and Zebra/ZHZ were OK.
To test, I learned two controls, switched to the synth view, verified the pair of gui knobs would move simultaneously with
the hardware knobs, then went back and unlearned them.

At first, I didn't double-click fast enough to unlearn :dog:
Maybe highliting the control, and having a key-combo
or function key to finish the unlearn would be a good option?
Cheers

I would dearly love to purchase some u-he goodies having played with all the demos. I'm on a very tight budget and can't throw money away on stuff that might cause problems and am concerned that linux support is limited even though the prices are the same as for mac & doze so I figured my first purchase would be a cheap one. So I chose Colour Copy, love it, however every time I hit the config button in the hope of enlarging the interface (way too small on 40" 4K by default) it crashes, consistently. I simply cannot justify spending good money on buggy software, so as this is consistent and also happens to others, is this going to be fixed? If so great, I'll wait, if not I'll reluctantly take my money elsewhere. FYI I'm running this in VCV Host module, all other U-he plugins appear to work ok apart from this one.

Please use the latest build, rev. 9775 of Colour Copy.
You can find it here: viewtopic.php?f=292&t=538894

The problem has been fixed in this build.
Btw, you can also change the GUI size by right-clicking in the plugin GUI (on some empty space, not on a parameter) and then setting the desired size.
However, this setting is just for the currently loaded instance of Colour Copy.
To set the default size for a new instance of the plugin, you have to set it in the preferences.
That QA guy from planet u-he.
