Hi,
Using Rapid Composer as VST in Studio One is a good way to be able to use automation.

1 - Create a new song
2 - Drag an Drop Rapid composer on Studio One from the Studio one browser like any instrument. This will create a Track and the Rapid Composer Window will open.
3 - Create your instruments tracks (1 to 16) in Studio One.
4 - Go in the Rapid Composer window and create a track for each instrument you created in Studio one. For each RC track, the instrument output will be : MIDI : VST output. Select Channel 1 for the first instrument, channel 2 for the second, etc.
5 - In studio one, open your first instrument. Now, there is a new option in Studio One 3, which is 'Direct input'.

Select the little arrow and select on channel 1 : Rapid Composer and the channel of the instrument in RC.

6 - Do that for each of your Studio one instruments, and voila ! Now, RC is speaking to Studio One.

Recording :
As far as I know, it isn't possible to record in RC when using it as VST with Studio One. But there is a workaround.
1 - Do your record in Studio One.
2 - In the Studio One browser, select the 'Files' tab and select a Folder which will be used as a temporary folder.
3 - Drag and drop your midi record in the Studio One browser (put it in the folder you selected in -2-). BUT, just before dropping it, press the <Alt Gr> in order to drop a midi file and not a music loop.
4 - Go to the RC window and simply drag and drop the midi file from your Studio one Browser to the RC window. It works perfectly !

That's all for today, I hope it will be usefull...

As a very update, this also works as advertised in Studio One 4 (or, to be more specific, Studio One 4 Artist and above with the 3rd party VST plugin installed).

Many thanks Gotaki!
