Xpand!2 - just a few comments

I still love XPand!2. It is very useful as a rompler, and takes care of more than half of my sounds (ie the backing sounds mostly). I would be very happy for an upgrade to version 3 though, with more uptodate sounds and more fx (like transient shaper for more edge).

Best features:
1. Layering up to four voices
2. Number of patches
3. Sound quality.

If they would just update this and make it more programmable, maybe add a few more sound slots (like layering up to 16 parts multitimbral), then it could possibly whip the Roland JV-1080's ass!

Agreed, merely to add, sometimes available for $1 and the 'expansion' when on special offer is one of the best deals available.
