The Linnstrument parts are made with Cypher2, by far the best synth vst that I've come across.
Really nice 😉
I love the bass sound

Hi everyone, after long time without any linnstrument cover, today I posted a new one.
Cheers 😉 and happy new year

Good one, Piero! I've linked to it from the LinnStrument Owner Videos playlist.

And happy new year to all!

" Bending Light" is a work in progress featuring LinnStrument controlling Trillian Acoustic Bass, SWAM Sax and Pigments. Piano and organ are played on a conventional keyboard and the drums are played on a Zendrum (controlling Superior Drummer). This is a long form piece. I may add some guitar or Stick and possibly have a friend play trumpet.

There is an interlude in the middle which is just bass, sax, and percussion.

Happy new year all!

I'd pick a platform that doesn't spam visitors with a full-page popup, pushing registration. Personally, that puts me right off. It presents like a malicious website. It also screams desperation. It's a bad first impression. As if we can't see the bright orange button in the top right corner for signing up, should we wish to do so.

Anyway, just my opinion. Always enjoy your music otherwise, Jeremy.

Oh, and Happy New Year, all and sundry! 2020... I must be seeing double. :ud:

Cheers!

Thanks for the feedback. I normally use SoundCloud but I am over my limit. I guess you get what you pay for. I will put the final version out on bandcamp. Sorry for the off-putting post!

Excellent, Jeremy. I love how you combine your skills in composition, arrangement and performance, and bring the best out of each instrument and sound.

Just listened straight though...amazing as always Jeremy! A really nicely detailed composition and amazingly organic give and take improv parts that one would never think were all coming from one person. I can also say with certainty that I have never knowingly heard jazz drums played that expressively by anyone but a live jazz drummer playing a standard drumset. Really quite incredible! Two questions: which part is Pigments? I clearly hear the other instruments, but not sure I heard an obvious synth part? It certainly wouldn't be the first time I missed something obvious though! Also, is that the pianoteq steinway b? If so, I have to say in a mix, my issue with the pianoteq metallic timbre is pretty much undetectable. Sounds very convincing.

Anyway thanks for sharing as always.

Happy new year to all!

Thanks so much, Steve! The piano is the Pianoteq Steingraber (thanks for reminding me how great it is). The main drums are a custom kit from Superior Drummer 3 controlled by the Zendrum. I used Pigments for a pad that starts at 2 minutes in and continues through the end of the part with the organ. It is a subtle patch that opens up the filter and several other parameters on CC 74 and other parameters from aftertouch.

In the last hours of 2019, I wanted to improv a song to this video loop of the French Broad River. I used an iPad Pro running AUM using Resonator by Tom Burns controlled by my LinnStrument. Efx from Eventide and Audio Damage and looping via the 4ms Dual Looping Delay. I recorded live to 2 track on my Zoom H6 and did no other processing. All that said, I didn't expect something this solemn, but I wanted to use the first thing I recorded, so here it is.

Very nice moody, contemplative improv! I love the "first take" model as it often leads to surprises and edginess.

(p.s., was that video taken in french broad river park? I think I might walk my dog by that tree on a daily basis!)

Wow... yeah Reckon104, that's the spot! Small world, right?! I ride my bike up and down the greenway when the weather cooperates. Also a regular at Asheville Synth Club and monthly synth jams at the 604 bottle club in West Asheville. Thanks for the kind words...
