is it possible to add a plugin to a clip like you can do in Reaper ?
Or is there a work around ?

Post

Nope and dublicate is to just copy track for that part of clip.
For me it works just fine in most cases as it's easier to visually see/distinct clips this way.

Post

well, I use the bounce function which works but you can't adjust parameters afterwards.

There are several ways to achieve that:
- automate the FX's on/off button
- automate FX send to the track where the FX track
- bounce-in-place the clip (for MIDI make sure the FX is nested within instrument)
- add the FX, group the track, select time on the group track where you want the FX applied, bounce-in-place, disable the FX

Here's an old video I made for the last option:

The FX Selector is a great device for this purpose - just automate the selection to your 'clip specific FX' for the duration of the clip, and have an empty rack on selection 1 for the other clips.

Oh, right - this is perfect, because it will preserve the tail of time-based effects like Delay or Reverb even if the device is disabled. It basically will work like automated send, but without using separate FX track :)

close , but still no Reaper style.I love Bitwig but this feature is really inspirational and you can always go back , delete or adjust.
Let's make this a future request.

Why should it be Reaper style? :D It's Bitwig.

Don’t get me wrong. I really like the simplicity and clever audio handling in BW.
But the clip effect in reaper is awesome.
I’m a Protools users since version 3.
BW and reaper are the only leftovers in my quest for a new DAW.

As mentioned, the FX Selector allows one to do the same thing in Bitwig...

The Reaper method is more direct in some regards...

The FX Selector in Bitwig has some advantages too.

It's only "awesome" for stationary FX, like EQ or distortion, but use anything time-based like delay, reverb, etc. and the tail of the FX will be cut at th boundary of the clip. Not so with FX Selector method suggested above. And it's really not much more work than this:
