Question about online and offline for Bitwig

Potential buyer question:
I understand the activation part but do you have to "login" to use Bitwig or is it just for the activation of the software?
or
Basically after activation, can you use Bitwig in an offline fashion or do you need persistant connection to the internet to use it?
did not see a clear cut answer to this anywhere.

It's a little of both. Activations work on a few machines, they must be online to login, and I think it needs check over time and not be in "offline" mode too long (days/weeks).

Activation can be done offline if needed, too.
You need to be online only to activate betas and to download content.

What stamp said. I've never had to log in or anything after some time. I don't even DL the content. (annoying flag will keep asking though) The one time activation until the next significant update.
