Hi!

I would love to hear how folks manage to create dynamic midivelocity from an audio signal.
Lets say:

I have a box with a microphone inside and want the signal to trigger notes of Phase4.

The problem is amplitude isnt exactly mappable/scalable. Like it is with the velocity- or keyscaler.

Thanks peoples!!

Envelope Follower modulator outputs the momentary level of audio signal coming to the device, which Audio Sidechain does the same from any specified signal around the project (+ additional controls for frequency band, attack+released and RMS/peak):

What Bitwig is missing, is a device that'd read pitch from incoming audio (the algorithm seems to be already in Treemonster, so there's hope).

Replacer with Audio Sidechain. The modulator is routed onto the Replacer Velocity. Play a bit with the gain of the sidechain modulator to adjust the peak.

Ah yes!!
Jeez... Never thought of that one! Haha.
Always modulated the gain of Tool. But this is always post envelope. Which sucks.
Great tnx!

I have better results with the Envelope Follower. Still not perfect though, in terms of scaling.
Would be nice to be able to drag the High parameter of the Note Velocity to the left, be able to make curves or make it more like the Keytrack modulator. \
Will experiment more.

Now using a kicktrigger (yamaha kp65) straight into my audiointerface Behringer umc404hd.
