The soundbank is coming along just beautifull and managed to create some incredibly awesome patches just now after a very long sitting (8-10 hours). It's just about finished with great basses, drums, leads, arps, pads, ambient soundscapes, sequences -- the works. Can't wait to upload them

These sounds are the sorts of sounds you find in lots of music, why pigeonhole it to a couple of niche sub genres?

These sounds are the sorts of sounds you find in lots of music, why pigeonhole it to a couple of niche sub genres?

For now I have only uploaded mostly some pads and some other ambient stuff so its not immediately apparent what I'm talking about. I will upload some good leads with some nice goa trance legato type sounds and arps to show what I mean. Some synths are good for goa trance right off the bat, like the old vanguard for instance. Also, it seems apparent Dmitri is a fan of those genres as a lot of the sounds in the demo bank would fit quite nicely in that genre.

The point is they would also fit a lot of other 'genres' too. I've never even listened to goa trance and haven't a clue what psybient is but I use these sort of sounds all the time. I just think it's crazy that people always seem to want to label sounds and stake a claim to them being for a particular kind (invariably their favourite kind) of music when people have been using similar sounds in all sorts of synth based music since synths were invented. It's like a dog marking its territory, but art is all about breaking out of boxes, not jumping into them.
