hi.
When loading 5 x AME 2, all with BIas 2 or similar, no problem. CPU hardly working.
Loading the new AME III cpu starts working, loading one more AME III sometimes crashing. Loading another one and then one more always crash/freeze cubase artist 9.5.
All insistent startet on new projects.

Hardware: 4 month old computer. i7-9700K, 2x SSD 1TB. 16GB Ram, GPU Radon RX 5800

Anyone else got problems with AME III..?
Cheers

Thanks for asking. the AME III takes the same CPU with AME II if you bypass built in AMPs and IR Reverb.

What is your buffer setting?

Hi, could you post a screenshot of "Studio Setup" in your Cubase? for example, mine looks like:

Hi.
Pretty much like mine. Funny part: downloaded Reaper v. 6, opened 8 instance of AME 3 using build in amp sims, worked like a charm. CPU load at barely 20%

Thank you for your info. Could you check the available space on your C drive?

Post

Hi.
As this is a fairly new DAW my SSD drive C:, has 300GB of 500GB available. My second internal SSD drive D:(where the libraries are) has 800 GB of 1TB available.
Im currently downloading Studio One to see if I have better luck with your AME III here. Just for testing

Uppdate: bummer, studio one prime do not support 3part vst`s..........
uppdate II: just activated studio one full version for 30 day trail. Now i can try Ample guitars :-)

to be continued...

Post

Uppdate III: Just loaded 8 X AME III, all with internal amp sims and FX on, and dropped some riffs to every track: Worked like a sharm with CPU load at just around 30%.
As it now turn out that the guitars work flawless in Studio One and Reaper v.6, it becomes clearly that it is Cubase Artists 9.5 that has a problem with this v.3 uppdate.
Any suggestion on how to adresse the problem to Cubase..?

Uppdate IV: I have made a ticket in Steinberg forum, saying:

Greetings everyone.

I dont know if anybody from Steinberg follows these forum, but here`s my (and others) problem.
Ample guitars has released a version 3 of there electric guitars. I can only speak for the one I own witch is Ample Guitar Metal Eclipse (v.3). I formerly enjoyed the version 2 of the same guitar with no problems what so ever. After installing the update, Iv noticed a big jump in CPU load when I started the VST guitar. About 30% on a new empty project. When I then open one more instance of the guitar and maybe one more, the hole system crash/freeze. Tried several reboot over several days, with same result. Talked to Ample guitar, who asked for buffer settings and free space on major drive. All good, buffer on max and a 4 month old Pc: i7-9700K, 16GB ram, SSD1 has 300GB free space and SSD2 has 800GB free space. Im on Cubase Artist 9.5
All other VST works just fine, hardy getting CPU load. Up to 20% with lots of tracks. My sound card is Roland duo capture ex.
Answer from Ampel was:"we have testet it on cubase pro, not artists. try to install Cubase again or upgrade to Pro"
The logical thinking here would be, there is something wrong with the Ample software, but I did a test: Downloaded Reaper v6 and Studio One, installed and fired upp 8 x ample guitar track in both .....: worked flawless !

So here`s my big conundrum: Ample is saying: its Cubase and I bet Cubase are gonna say it Ample :-)

How to get Steinberg Team to confirm its not there software or to get Ample to confirm its not theirs software..? (i suspect his to be a well know problem regarding 3 part software integrations)
Any tough....? anybody...?
Anyway: Happy Christmas and a jolly Dawproblemsfree new year :-)

Steinberg and Ample Sound have supported each other for years, we have very good relationship :)

Are you using VST3 or VST2 of AME?

Post

Oh...how do I know witch one Im using..? in my plug-in manager it says VST 2,4. Is that VST 2 ?

Thanks :-)

Ok, So read several places that there are some trouble with cubase and the reading of vst instrument who installs both vst2 and vst3 .dll files.
Would it be a good idea to uninstall the version 3 guitars and reinstalling them ,put a check-mark for just the vst 3.dll file and make the path to steinbergs VST 3 folder..?

ps: would uninstalling the v.3 guitars delete all the .dll files belonging to the guitars...?

cheers
