any ideas why voltage modular creates crackles or dropouts?

I have a 4ghz i7 quad core with Windows 10 pro 64 and never problems with cackles/dropouts in other daws. But in voltage modular I get often and sporadic crackles even in no so super complex patches.

I enabled openGL and also tried multi core support. with 512 buffer it seems to be a lot less than with 256. I'm using it in standalone at the moment.

Is there a cpu load meter inside voltage to see if it's overloading? In Windows 10 tasks manager it consumes only about 15% cpu. Is this a common voltage modular problem? I'm trying the demo and quite like it, but this crackle thing is a deal breaker for me. Can't say that it is voltage modulares fault I don't want to blame, but I don't have this problem in other audio applications.

I have a possible reason. Seems only to happen when I use the VST Rack to use vst plugins inside. Without it is seems pretty rock solid in the last hour.
