Arturia Beatstep (not pro) double trigger issue

Hello.

I am having an issue with my beatstep whereas when I hit a pad, it often triggers twice.
This seems to only happen with short samples (drums) but it is very annoying especially as the chances of double hits are about %50 of the time.

I googled this and see that it is a common issue; however I could not find a fix.

Is there one?
Is this a unit specific issue like perhaps I have a lemon or does this happen to all units?
Can there be anything done like some sort of sensitivity or other setting that can fix this problem?

I have the Keylab 49 MKII and have the same problems with double-triggering (and "not triggering") on the pads. From what I've read the problem is fairly pervasive, so it's not likely these are just individual bad units.
