Sidechain input on a Submix resets the panning of the contained tracks

Hi,
I'm using W10 and when I add a sidechain input to a compressor on a submix track, all the panning in the submix's tracks become centered. I'm not sure if it's a bug or a feature, but this is making it needlessly complex than it should be to add some sidechain compression to a bus/group of tracks.
Thanks in advance!

Okay, so I've used racks to circumvent this issue. But I think it's a bug with sub mixes and side-chain input? Can someone please clarify this?

I haven't noticed this, but there's a lot of odd behavior related to submixes. I'll try it out.
