It's probably another bug.

If I have a project open (in the projects tab). I drag in a .tracktionedit file and it appears in the project.

I close Waveform. I restart. I open the same project. The dragged-in edit has gone.

Am I missing something?

I've tried to replicate what you might have done but I think I'm missing something. Could you explain (or give me a step-by-step list) what the dragging involved, and I'll see if I get the same or can do something more in line with your aim. I can't see where you would have copied the edit from.

It is indeed a bug.

A project may not contain all of the edits that are in its folder. If you drag in an edit that is in the project's folder, but doesn't appear in the edit list, it doesn't actually get added to the project properly.

If you drag in an edit from a different folder, a dialog appears asking if you want to copy the edit into the project folder or not. The edit will then get properly added to the project.
