Hello,

I've just found this amazing audio editor and have some questions about some functions.

1. Automatic Track Splitting - when I split the track it creates regions, but the last part of the file is shorter and therefore is left out. Is this the desired behavior? That leads me to the:

2. Would it be feasible to add the feature that can split the track according to the desired number of equally long regions? E.g. in GoldWave there is this feature:

3. In SoundForge there is cool AutoTrim function that helps me to save time with lot of recordings (mainly narration):

Is something like this planned in the future releases?

Thank you for the information.

Thanks, I'm very glad to hear that you like it!

Version 7 inserts track splits instead of creating regions. Are you using version 6 or earlier, maybe?

I haven't considered that before, but it would be an easy feature to add. Improved tools for automatic labels and regions have been requested several times, so this is something we will implement.

Yes, this is indeed on the "to do" list and we'll get that implemented in a future update.

Hello Stian,

Thank you very much for information, appreciate it. I'm currently trying to optimize my workflow and with these features Acoustica seems to have the right tools for me:)

Right, so that means that I should create the last region manually, in this case? I'm sending the screenshot, maybe I'm doing something wrong?

These are my settings:

This is the result:

Thank you again for your time, wish you a nice Christmas and a successful beginning of a new year.

The problem is the "Minimum Pause Duration" -- it shouldn't be set to zero, otherwise a single sample value below the threshold will cause a track split. Please increase that to 1 or 2 seconds and it should work much better.

Thanks, and a Happy New Year to you, too! :)

Yes, that is what I wanted to split the track into several parts so that I can export them in separate files. But what I wanted to point out is that at the end of the audio file the last track is missing, I presume it's because the duration is shorter than 30s in this case. I just wanted to split the audio into several pieces as fast as possible, that's all;)

Oh, now I get what you mean. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Yes, the last one is missing because it's shorter than the minimum duration. You can add it quickly by double clicking inside the last region and then hit the R key to add a region.

Yes, that's what I found out later, too:)

Thank you.

Hi Stian,

Autotrim is the one thing I need that's missing! :( Edit: oops! Forgot to say, I need it for automation. Just a single setting for level will do!

Can you move it up to number 1 on your to-do list?

Thanks,
Syn
I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better? :(

Thanks for your input. Yes, this is actually rather simple to implement and there have been many similar requests, so I'll give it priority. We'll release a new official build in the coming days where it's not included, but we'll try to get it in in the following update.

Best,
Stian
