cannot load .m4a file after saving (V7.1.8) /macos 10.14.02

Saving a selection or as file with mp4 file type (default extension .m4a) on a mac results in a file that cannot be read/loaded by Acoustica anymore (format could not be determined)
this can be reproduced on a permanent basis

Saving/saving selection as wave/mp3/ogg works

Thanks for reporting and I apologize for the inconvenience. M4A export was indeed not working correctly on some systems with version 7.1.8. We've just uploaded a new intermediate build that should fix this (7.1.11):
