Crossfades are not persistent

When I set a crossfade (using the X-fade parameter in the Loop tab) to get smooth loop on a difficult sample, the X-fade time gets reset to zero a few seconds after setting the value.
I'm running TX16Wx 3.3.0d 64-bit in Windows 10.

Not surprisingly this works fine for me. Are you sure you are not hitting undo by mistake?

Yes. I set a crossfade time and it sounds fine. Then I click somewhere else, for example in the waveform display or another value field, and the X-fade value resets to zero and the glitch in the loop is back. This has happened with all loops I have tried so far.

Just to clarify; You set the value, then exit the edit field. Is the value set then, or do you mean that it resets when exiting the field editor? The latter might be your host somehow messing with windows messages, though it does not sound very plausible.
Try typing/dragging the value then pressing enter to finish editing.

It seems to be my host (Reaper) that is the problem. When I tried it using Live Professor 2 as a host the problem disappeared. FYI, in Reaper the value sometimes reset when exiting the field editor, sometimes a couple of seconds after exiting the field editor. Typing and pressing enter made no difference.

Try enabling "+ -> Compatibility settings -> Save minimal undo states" and "avoid loading undo states when possible". Reaper is sometimes trying to be to clever about undo (fine for simple synths with fixed parameters etc - less so for TX).
However, I cannot really provoke this behaviour in REAPER either...
