Exporting slices group as MIDI

I apologize in advance for my lack of knowledge. This is the first time I have messed with a sampler. I am trying to beat slice a loop and pull it out into my DAW so I can adjust the tempo. I have all the slices where I want them and then used "layout slices" to get them on the keyboard. When I try to pull that group into my DAW it does not import. All the videos of this working appear to be from Version 2 of the sampler.

Is this an issue because I am using the free version, or am I doing something wrong? I cannot pull that group to my file browser or anything. I can drop it into chrome which downloads it as a .mid file, but it has a random string of letters after the file extension. If I delete those letters so that the computer reads it as a .mid file, it still will not import.

I have tried this in Pro Tools and Logic. I am on a Mac. Let me know if you need more information.

There seems to be some issues with dragging file(s) in TX on recent OSX versions. I'll try to get a working version up soon (maybe thursday).
