Hello, Im just getting into computer music and sampling and had one question that if answered will make a huge difference in my learning curve, any help would be massively appreciated, Ive got a novation sl mkII midi'd into maschine which is usb to my computer, my soundcard is just an onboard basic one atm. Im using asio4all to run the maschine daw. So question...what would I need for equipment or to do so I can run a youtube tutorial and run maschine or protools or whatever at the same time? Right now i have to shut one down as only one plays. Ive been looking for answers everywhere and most of its really convoluded, Ive got like a sub 300 hundred budget for this. Thanks soo much for any help!

Hello Origen! asio4all is not multiclient, that's your problem. Please read this:

If it works for you, you won't need to spend any money.

Thanks for answering stand, this sounds like what Im trying to do but it didnt work for me, Im wondering if its because I dont have an asio soundcard, they made it seem in the description that thats what its for, Ive just got the stock one onboard my MB, when I launch that asiomulti program it sees my asio4all but then the box where the client launches remains empty, I tried several things but nothing got it going.

You might have succes trying this tool: http://www.virtualaudiostream.com/

Since your web browser doesn't use ASIO i don't see how that would help ?standalone wrote:Hello Origen! asio4all is not multiclient, that's your problem. Please read this:

ok, the virtualaudiostream download is pretty much exactly what Im looking for, but Im really looking for a more professional solution, basically what Im asking is do I need a different type of soundcard to do this, or do I need like an m audio external interface?, Ive seen other people ask this question as well but it never seems to get answered, I guess if you are able to do this could you briefly explain the equipment your using, thanks!

Something like this is enough:
http://www.native-instruments.com/#/en/ ... e-audio-6/
I'm sure there are cheaper options, like M-Audio, as you mentioned.

I did yesterday.Origen wrote:Ive seen other people ask this question as well but it never seems to get answered
Nothing in particular. I use ASIO4ALL and can watch Youtube videos at the same time my DAW is playing. I have no idea why you aren't. Would have helped if you told us exactly what the problem is since i don't have it.Origen wrote:I guess if you are able to do this could you briefly explain the equipment your using, thanks!
