Wow, that's quite something.

I really like the news layout. Only thing I don't like is that the latest posts bar got pushed so far down. Which actually wouldn't be so bad if there was a link to my customized latest posts search in the profile drop down. Other than that, neat-o.

So will the forum pages eventually be moving to the new, rounded, black view?

news layout is cool, the design looks a bit like someone "forgot all the edges" though and some of the spacing is a bit iffy, might well still be a wip i suppose and it's only cosmetic in most cases so it's not like it really matters.

I don't like the fact that latest posts pushed down either.

Otherwise, these kinds of changes usually feel like "what the..." at first so I'll just let it sink in for a while before I even try to say anything.

Just saw that the link is in the profile drop down. It could be a little easier to see, mind you, like bolded or something.

Just mouse over the red bar, that stuff all got moved into there.

The contrast is way too high compared to the current creamy color scheme. The goggles do nothing!

Someone's obviously been working hard on this -- congrats to Ben + team!

I do think it's a good step in the right direction in terms of making KVR more friendly to the average user rather than the elite, even if visually there are still some rough edges.

That said.. I know ads are a lot of what pays for KvR, but TWO sponsor products (Sequel and Komplete Receptor), AND banner ads (top and bottom), AND Google ads.. bit excessive maybe?

And from the point of view of noob-friendliness -- the links on the right hand side (most recent plugins in the DB?) don't tell you a whole lot about what the plugin is without clicking on them.. some rollover popup layers or summat might be neat there. Maybe 'New', 'Top Rated', and 'KVR Recommends' tabs would work there?
