Does anyone know of a resource for graphs and images that we can use free of charge to illustrate basics like a sine curve or the phon40 or a basic diagram of a condenser mic?
It seems silly to sit and make inferior drawings when I know where to find good images, but on the other hand there's that there copyright thing to worry about...

I believe most of the images over at http://en.wikipedia.org are released under the GNU Free Documentation License and Creative Commons.
Images are easily searchable.
Here are some nice waves.
