I do, but I explained, I was considering the 25-key one because, based on the Code49's price tag, it would be really expensive. I could instead take a 25-key one, which has the same parts, with the same size, and use them.

My only other problem is that I feel like the CodeXX is a beautiful keyboard, and I don't think I'd have it in me to crack it open and use it for parts. Oof.

I also only need 2 rows of 4 pads, 8 pads in total, rather than the whole 4x4.

Unless they're separate... And then there's the problem that what am I going to do with the half- taken-apart Keyboard?

I can't just sell it, right? It's not like someone will want to buy a keyboard without the keyboard or most of the parts?

Wth? Should we research the whole project, buy the parts, and then build it for you. No offence but you seem to want to be hand held every single step of the way. Do a bunch of research for a month or two. Read articles on DIY. I actually opened this thread thinking that i might (for once) have some useful info to add.

I’ve been considering building a controller for years. I want (many) knobs distinctly grouped, wheels on the right side, touchstrips and all kinds of bells and whistles. When i do finally get to it (i started a modular with a lot of chaos circuits the last time instead) i will likely just hack mangle an existing unit.

I'm perfectly fine with building it, it's just that I'm new to all of this stuff, and don't entirely know where to look. I have friends who can probably help me build the cabinet/casing, / at least the wood parts, I'll have to see if someone is near where I live who can do stuff with plastic. I've figured out that I need 61 keys, and I think I've found a decent enough keyboard to use for parts. If anything, I'll get two, one to use for parts, and one to keep, since I have fallen in love with the specific keyboard in question. Lol.

The one final part I think I'll still need are those glowy buttons, I'm pretty sure they're in Moogs. Like, they have a sort of orangey glow. I am just realizing they are probably made out of some sort of transparent plastic, although in my mind they would be a sort of rubbery material. So I have no idea where to go to get something like that.

Also, I haven't just been trying to get everyone else to do everything for me.

I look around to try to find what I need first before asking.
I'm sorry for being such a pain, as I said before, I'm new to this sort of stuff.

No worries. Maybe i’m grouchy. Really though the interwebs are most all you need info wise. When i started building in 1983 there was way less info available but still plenty. I also had to walk uphill both ways to buy parts. In the snow.

It's funny you should say that, for like all of today, I've been working on making a 3D model of what I'd like.
