You need unblanced inputs (that's the RCA jack of your desktop speakers) - almost all monitor speakers have that.
What monitor speakers add compared to consumer speakers, are balanced inputs. You will start using the balanced input as soon as you have an audio interface with balanced outputs.
Normal PC on-board audio is unblanced.

I was speculating about what we actually wants to know.
Understood it as "want to replace/upgrade my desktop speakers, but new speakers also need to have an RCA jack (he probably runs it from on-board audio)"
-> buy monitor speakers below ~1000$ (professional / expensive ones often don't have unbalanced inputs as no professional would not use it anyhow)
