Banggood kits?

...and how to do so...

Anyone ever built one of those cheap Banggood kits before?

Eg. http://www.banggood.com/DSO138-DIY-Digi ... 69762.html

Oscilloscope with LCD display ~$/£18

Other kits inc signal generator, freq metre etc for even less (£7)...

I wouldn't expect great performance at that price but maybe good enough for my occasional electronic dabbling?

Cheers.

Haven't seen the kits before but I assume they're the same as the pre-built things that've been around for a while. There was a thread on FSB or DIYSB about the transistor tester, scope, etc. and people seemed to be mostly happy with them.

This looks much the same (but assembled and, erm, cheaper):

edit: whoops should be this one

Given my prowess with soldering irons and SMD components I'd be buying the pre-built version :)

I've built that oscilloscope kit and found it useful for testing and monitoring things, such as what's coming out of other kits I've built - good for the kind of low-level, inexpert troubleshooting that I'm barely capable of.

Speaking of dabbling in the occult, I also built the function generator kit from the same company (JYE Tech):

I'm hoping to do something with it similar to this to integrate more easily with other noise making apparatus:

I didn't buy them from Bandgood but the JYE kits seem pretty widely available and respected enough to have been counterfeited!

Sorry guys, forgot I posted this...

That sounds like me to a tee. :)

Thanks, will look out for the genuine ones sometime soon.
