Shreddage 3 Stratus - unable to even get a decent strum sound?

For over a week now (in-between working & having life stuff to do) I have struggled to get Stratus to even produce a decent strum and yes, I have watched every youtube video on Stratus I can find and I have read the manual. I have tried emulating all of the settings shown in the videos yet what I manage to produce is frankly terrible. It sounds nothing like a guitar strum.

I know I am asking a lot of questions about Shreddage 3 Stratus but I am finding it extremely frustrating and difficult program to use while there seems to be a real lack of in-depth explanations for users on how you use it.

Can someone please kindly put me back on the right path?

This is an example of what I mean.
The first part, played on a real Strat, is how it SHOULD sound....
The second part is all I can get Stratus to produce....
Notice that bizarrely Stratus seems to put huge emphasis on the lower note of each strum and I am unable to stop it from doing this.
