I've been watching yellukhan's excellent videos and see he has a massive library of chord progressions, many are more than 4 bars long. I checked out some of the DMS midi packs and see there are a lot of them. I went looking on the web for chord progression databases and there are a few but the formats are very varied.
I looked at the rcCHPR Chord Progression files and I can see some are just plain text files.
Now I'm looking at the rcCPRL Chord Rules files and they are also text files.
I'm wondering if I could generate Chord Progression files from the Chord Rules files? I've done some database/programming work in the past so I understand the scope of the task. I could start with 4 bar progressions and maybe progress to 8 bar progressions.
But is this a good idea? Would I get good chord progressions?
