No. I like the sfz format but it would be a lot of work to support it.
I recommend the free Plogue Sforzando for using sfz:

My initial thought was
you're talking about sample players for those file types that are instruments. RC would use those VSTs.
beyond that - Attila was typing the best answer faster than me

Yes, I want to use instruments/sounds from the DAW I use but I don't know how to make this happen. I want the sounds from my DAW but the "piano roll" features of RC. I just don't know how to combine the two. Can you point me in the right direction?
Thank you,
yeto

If your instruments from the daw are vsti's and/or soundfonts added to RC
they will be accessed via the instrument selector in the track header.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

The VST is not showing in instruments. How can I get it to populate?
Thank you,

There are several new user threads in this forum. You should page through and read them.
A thread about the struggle I had w/the add instrument process - including developer interaction.

You may not be able to get the flash videos. App changes mentioned were ~ year ago, so done.

you can also set up your DAW a playback device for RC. There is an example video in the user guide videos that shows how to set up Reaper for this. Should be similar for any other DAW, except for the free version of like Studio One, etc.. (they don't allow it from the DAW)
