Hi. Wonderful and Amazing contributions here! Many thanks!

I do have a question -

Is there a way to set up one-click audition so that drum phrases ( e.g. Accompaniment -> Percussion -> Drums_ElectroXX (N beats) ) sound like drums (instead of piano)?

Post

Yes! The active track is used for one-click preview, so you just need to add a track where you set up the instrument as (for example) "SF2: GeneralUser GS-RC.sf2" with "Standard Drums" as the preset.
Of course you can use any other virtual instrument with a GM drum map.

Hi. Lovely, and it makes perfect sense, but unf. that is not what I am observing, which is why I asked. I have a track set up for Power Drums (see attached pic). With phrases in it, it sounds perfectly on playback (i.e. sounds like drums!). However, when I do one-click audition of Phrases in the Phrases library they sound like Piano, even though the Power Drums track is selected (track is highlighted).

I have couple of info to share, i dont think this has been mentioned before, as far as i know.
As of RC 3.84
1. Dragging a specific section of Midi
If u want to drag a specific region of the composition, phrase/midi to ur DAW rather than drag droping the whole track into ur DAW, highlight that specific area in the timeline, ctrl+left click the track header and drop it into DAW. Also works with dropping an entire section of ur composition by ctrl+left clicking the notation icon and dragging to DAW.
Dropping multitracks works with Reaper, but not with Live as of 9.7. something something, thats wat im using no idea about the later versions of live, but dragging single tracks to clip view and arrangement view works though.

2. Selecting CC values (shift + left click) and deleting
While working or drawing with cc values like modulation, pitch, expression, note velocity etc. in RC if u need to delete a specific area, highlight it using shift+left click and use right click to bring menu and click Remove controller events in selection.

ahh so cool.. he makes want to get a go pro camera like his.. I think his British sense of humor just rocks with me..

I would have quoted your CC notes message, but, didn't .. Coming soon is CC info at the phrase level.. no clue when and I probably should not have mentioned this.. but hey.. I did.. :)

Hi all,

stumbled over this after upgrading to RC 4.1. Was a little abstinent from RC ... and now try to add some of the great users content. You guys rock, many thanks!

@Attila: Is there a single place where all the contributions are collected together or is it rather I would have to skim through the forum posts and collect them myself? Wouldn't it be nice to have a web site where all contributions are in one place?

Best Regards

Hi Peter,

The archive of contributed phrases and rhythm patterns (by yellukhan and tonedef71) can be downloaded as a single .zip file. It includes more than 40000 phrases and 3600 rhythm patterns that you can use in RapidComposer!
There are no embedded .zip and .rar files that you need to extract. You just need to copy the contents of 'Copy_To_CustomPhrases' and 'Copy_To_CustomRhythms' to their respective folder, and that is all. If RapidComposer is running, reload the phrases and rhythms.

https://www.musicdevelopments.com/RC_Cu ... 191202.zip

Please note, if you copy EVERYTHING into your Custom Phrases folder, loading 42000 phrases will take some time, even if files are loaded asynchronously.

There are additional chord progressions, categorized that you can download:

I remember yellukhan spend along time preparing midi to work in RC he was someone who definitely liked his custom phrases.

Any chance of this canvas track happening soon Rc needs somethink dedicated to custom phrases. it needs a device that can take your custom phrases and give you alternative patterns using the same parameters.

you could also make several folders on your OS and break them down by folder, then, in RC, point to the custom folder you want to work with. This would help with load times..
