very minor bug.. the variations browser not obeying the settings for the group state. I have the setting to open the browser with all groups collapsed, but it opens with all of them in the expanded state..

You are perfectly right. The reason is that there are no 'groups' in the variations browser in the sense than in other browsers, that you can collapse and expand. The variations browser is special, it contains variation items only, which can be collapsed and this causes the confusion. I'll see if this can be fixed easily. But the setting indeed does not work, or should not be there at all...

I managed to fix restoring the collapsed state of items in the Variations browser.

Hi alienaircraftmusic,

Finally I am able to test RC VST with Studio One 4.5.4 on macOS 10.14.6!
I used RC v3.81 (latest version) and it worked very well, without any problems.
Is it possible you have an old version of the RC VST plug-in somewhere?

Hi guys. I need simple base, playing just chord root notes. Bass generator doesn't have this obvious function, at least I havent found it in the list. There are 20! variations, for exsample "use only bass notes" is not working, because one of my chords is Db/Ab (drop1). But it is still Db, but bass generator did not want to play Db as base note.

Second question - I want to have my chords close together - minimize note moving in chord progression. I have not found it anywhere, please refer me.

Thanks for your reply, but you are wrong, it is not working for Db/Ab (drop1) chord, bass note is still Ab instead of Db. I want root note to be bass note.

About video, sorry, it way too long to do this manualy, my question was "is there any function to make chord close together quickly?". I have Sundog Song studio - the function is "minimize finger(bass note) movement in chord progression".
I think it is basic functions of music software like this, very strange for me our complicated Rapid composer does not have it.

about the Db/Ab
Bass Generator always follows the "Bass Note" in this case note is Ab (after the slash points to altered bass : /Ab)
you need to remove that altered chord and just leave the "Db" only.

about close chord voicing:
i see you are using one Chord Generator,
Open Phrase inspector, click to Object Properties tab
see there General/Size/Chord
click to Chord and press to On for "Lock To Scale:"

That is not good, IMHO 50% basses using root notes, especially in EDM (90%), but among 20 variations of bass there is not most useful one - "use chord root note only".

i think this workaround should work for your needs
use Chord Generator and transpose it to the bass range
add Extract Notes variation to the Track (or Phrase)

Hey, already sent a PM, but, here is more info.. The ghost bug still acts like the phrases are locked, right after you un-ghost them, however, if you close RC and restart, the phrases work.

I remember when i use RC in reaper and i add more than 1 RC plugin i get this CPU hang too.
I not use RC in DAW, but as far i see there can only add 1 rc VST in a DAW. i do it this way in reaper. add in bass track RC plugin before instrument, then in other tracks too

maybe this user get the problem too, because he use more than 1 RC VST in DAW ?. to avoid trouble maybe rc output a message when more than 1 plugin is run in DAW ?

Shortly the RC plug-in will be completely rewritten not to use a bridge but open as a normal plug-in.
Also it will be available in VST2/VST3/AU versions.
I hope it will work more reliably. The disadvantage for this approach is that only 16 channels will be supported from the host. So multiple plug-ins won't connect to the same application that is why the 16 channel limit.
I became more experienced in VST3/AU plug-in APIs in the past weeks so I hope this will happen very shortly.
