Hi lulukom,

Strange, this is the same crash as the one you sent me on July 17th. My fix did not work.
Do you remember which menu you clicked on when the crash occurred? This would be important to know. All I can see is that you did not click on a plain button or on a plain menu, but on a control which can display several buttons horizontally, or when there is no space the buttons are collapsed into a menu.

I remember that this happened when I selected chords in the chord selector with the mouse, I can’t say in more detail ..

I had a crash trying to save a phrase to the phrase browser. I was playing with midi import to the browser, then converted to a generator, then trying to save that back to the browser using the same group name I created on the midi import. I was able to set a group name for the save, but, it crashed when I clicked on the phrase name. (This is the latest beta) I'll see if I can reproduce it in a video..

Hi BluGenes,
This bug is fixed now. Unfortunately Beta3 includes a new bug when editing text.
I completely reworked text editing on Windows and the new implementation had an issue.
I will upload Beta4 very soon which will fix these problems.

awesome.. yea, lol, just finished a video on it. I was still fixing stuff from my WIN 10 update. I couldn't get my mic/interface to record. As it turns out MS turns off a setting for "privacy" concerns, but, neglected to inform anyone. Such a wonderful company.

Ostinato is not offered, because it cannot use any rhythm patterns at the moment. But this will change shortly.

RapidComposer v3.8b4 is available!

September starts with a new beta version! 'Slice Phrase' was reworked and is more useful than ever. The new 'Re-rhythmize Phrase' variation makes rhythmic variations of the same phrase.

Changes:

'Slice Phrase' UI redesigned and many options added;
New variation: 'Re-rhythmize Phrase': make rhythmic variations of the same phrase
[Windows] crashing text editing bug fixed
New divisions added to Ostinato Generator (4/4, 4/4T, 2/4, 2/4T, 1/4, 1/4T)
Layers can be closed with the Esc key. The default 'Panic!' shortcut is now unassigned
Chord notes are displayed in the pop-up help over the master track
Fixed: in the chord rules editor the vertical and horizontal scroll-bars didn't work for many (100+) rules
Fixed issues in Phrase Slicer (phrase became longer)

awesome on the update.. I can't consistently reproduce this one, but, it seems on the first run, when I open the phrase browser, and click on a phrase or generator, I get the save phrase dialog box. After canceling, it doesn't re-appear.. the beta before this was doing it too..

the new slice phrase is perfect. i can get easy very good melodies out of melody generator. I see there is in some generators a musical stress setting. this contain strong, strong+medium, strong+medium +weak. but it is usefull to have a setting medium+ weak too. maybe this can add too ?

in the same project (in the video)
i accidentally switched to Note Editing mode
all the MG (s) instantly turned "Edited"
can anyone confirm this behavior
just to being sure: wasn't specific to me / wasn't an user error i miss somehow?

Wow! Thanks everyone for the lot of feedback!

I am fixing the issues...

If someone could run this beta version on macOS, earlier than 10.12 that would be very helpful. There are lots of low-level UI changes in v3.8 which were not tested properly on older macOS versions.
