In a sense anything that is midi in an iPad that can be routed to the Windows and Mac computer.

iPad apps are ahead or the curve in innovation. Add multi-touch capability and innovative developers and we end up with some really nice apps. I wish these developers port their apps to the Windows multi-touch environment and charge a bit more $$$ as has been the case so far. For the time being I route the iPad midi out to the PC through the iConnectMIDI2+. See my studio shot:

My favorite MIDI iPad apps:
Navichord. I have several iPad mid apps but have not used them enough to develop a favorite.

I would love to see:
What are your favorite iPad midi apps.
The virtual or hardware instrument you prefer to use.
If possible mention the routing method to the PC you use.

Gestrument Pro, Fugue Machine and AC Sabre spring to mind. Rozeta suite looks amazing but I'm staying on an older OS to keep my Alchemy

Though strictly its not Midi, I vote for TouchOSC a close second is MobMuPlat. Both let you create yourself whatever you need. MobMuPlat includes beside Midi also audio and OSC...

Wow, all that you mentioned look and sound great except for SA Sabre which is not my cup of tea.

Why are the iPad app developers so creative? Would love to see them offer their skills and make apps for Windows multi-touch with bigger screens and more processing power and let hem charge more $$$.

Too bad Rozeta will not work with a vst instruments.

AC Sabre let's you calibrate gestures to midi cc, easy setup and expressive if you have an old iPhone. Inputting notes didn't work that well for me. I just spent half an hour with Aphelian using internal sounds but the midi possibilities here are looking bright.

Is there a real-time image to midi data app.
Prefer MPE midi and to be able to use your own images.

^ I don’t think there is.

I'd like to hear about ANY Image to MIDI apps, anywhere, realtime or not; hopefully there's a few that run on a Mac!

As for ios MIDI, my all time fav is Different Drummer, WAY more than just a drum or beat machine. I use it as a touch-driven performance aid, like a bionic virtuoso.

I connect using musicIO. http://musicioapp.com

1. Image to MPE midi could be very interesting controlled by the finger touch or touches.
Kaleidoscope does something similar using audio.

Hope the Colin and crew will do this in Architect

2. I have the iconnectmidi2+ for iPad to PC midi and audio.
Would I be better off with MusicIO or Studio Mux?

Studio Mux, midi Mux, Audio Mux https://zerodebug.com/studiomux

An interesting thread on iPad to PC midi and audio.

If so please provide link.
Or like me you like musical patterns?
Actually I like patterns that do not have an identical repeat.
and that are forever changing and evolving.
