Tonespace Chord CC Automation

I want to use MIDI CC to select the Tonespace chord type.

I am using Bome MIDI Translator to translate incoming MIDI note numbers to CC controller messages. These are forwarded to Reaper DAW which uses the VST automation to control the chord selection drop down in Tonespace.

The problem is the CC values do not map linearly to chord changes. The chord values respond within an unpredictable(?) 2-4 value range:

0-3 unison
4-6 minor 2
7-9 major 2
10-13 minor 3
14-16 major 3
17-19 perfect 4
20-22 diminished 4
23-26 perfect 5
27-29 minor 6th
etc...

I would expect a single step in value to select adjacent chords, something like:

0 = unison
1 = minor 2
2 = major 2
etc...

Is this the way Tonespace is meant to work, or am I doing it wrong?
