Audio Interface Issues

OK So I finally caved and upgraded to Windows 10 last night, all went well software wise,
problem lies in Hardware. I now have lost my firewire saffire (legacy) it will not connect, the 1394 card will not work (Code 12) and nothing I do will bring back the Saffire, which is a real pain as the unit is working fine and I really like it.
I contacted focusrite, who's pathetic answer was "Its not compatible with Win 10" aka we are too lazy to find the issue with VIA drivers and update ours.
Has anyone got their Saffire to work with Win 10 ? Or is it new interface time.
To save another thread, if I need a new Audio Interface, I am on a strict budget atm, so basically need TRS Outputs, one XLR input that has phantom power and USB 3 connectivity, if such a unit exists, any recommendations ?
Thanks.

VIA drivers? So you're using a VIA Firewire card?
I'm using FW cards based around the TI XIO2213B currently on modern boards with a current OS build. I haven't used it with the Saffire, but if anything is going to make it work, then it's probably that.

As Kaine mentioned, you have to try a card with TI XIO2213B chipset.

As has been pointed out, it comes down to your Firewire chipset.
Focusrite has a support document that tells you EXACTLY what chipsets should and shouldn't work (Not sure why Focusrite didn't refer you to their own knowledge base. In any case, a simple search brings it right up).

FWIW, I have two FW interfaces from different devs (Steinberg and TC Electronics) that work just fine with Windows 10. Before I upgraded to Win 10, I purchased two PCIe cards with Texas Instruments XIO2213B chipset, and they have worked problem free since day one.
