Sorry about the slow response to your question.
The StrumMaker III Alt instrument was created and made available after some users had trouble with SM III cutting off sustains in their sequencers. Also, some people just preferred the way note durations were handled in SM II using the second table. You can find the user guide for SM II in the StrumMaker II folder (in the Samples and Legacy Content folder).

Acoustic Guitar Collection does have a few "Easter Eggs", I guess. "Harmonic Dance" is found in the Special Instruments folder along with a few others. Also, you'll find every version of StrumMaker (1,2,and3) in the download, including the first version, which uses sampled major and minor chords instead of script produced chords. These sampled chords are also available in their own instrument.
There are actually Akai S-5000/6000 instruments (.akp) found in the individual instruments' sample folders, so if you have an old Akai S-5000 you can load them up! You can also import these instruments into most software samplers.

StrumMaker IV is a vast improvement as far as strumming, and if you have both libraries (AGC and SM4), you can access your AGC sounds in the SM4 instrument and take advantage of the new strumming features.
