I'm running short of ideas this month. Fifth reply to this thread chooses the theme! (Maybe ).

Talking Heads were great, but it would be extremely difficult to create something like a track from Remain in Light. (Blues, on the other hand, is considered to be extremely repetitive and boring among the participants in here.)

DrApostropheX chooses a famous song and everybody has to cover it in their own unique way.
In all the times I've been entering this compo we've never had a cover challenge.

Everyone does a cover version of a classic track. Or everyone chooses a song to cover, from a classic album

Thanks! But I should have been clearer: I was suggesting that we all cover/interpret the same song e.g everybody does a version of 'The Wind Cries Mary', or we all pick a song to contribute to a classic album e.g everybody takes a song from Sgt.Pepper, with the aim of creating a tribute albumper99 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 30, 2019 2:10 pmviewtopic.php?t=510663 That is September 2018el-bo (formerly ebow) wrote: ↑Tue Jul 30, 2019 1:49 pmMaybe we are thinking of different things. That was actually an idea I had for a separate thread, a while back. I was thinking of recording a cover version of 'The Working Hour' (Tears For Fears), and thought it would be a fun idea to see if anyone else wanted to chip-in to help recreate 'Songs From The Big Chair'.
I obviously never got around to it

Fwiw, I'm not sure the album would be practical, but it would be interesting to hear everyone's take on the same track (It needn't be a song).
Of course, getting everybody to agree would be the first challenge.
Maybe I'll start a classic songs re-creation thread
