I think you're mistaking them for, "Tossohs".

No, it's a Chinese knock-off of the respected electronics company Wayne-Kerr :P
It wasn't me! (well, actually, it probably was) - apparently now an 'elderly' so maybe I forgot!

Post

No it is not.

Suggestions on VSTis we can use to get the 8bit sound?

Basic 65 (Windows 32 only) and PSG are 2 free ones. Synth1 with one oscillator selected is also a good choice.
For FM Dexed and others. Like FM8 and Juice OPL.
Many paid and free VSTs as well as Kontakt libraries. As well as HW synths/drum machine and acoustic instruments.

I agree on Basic65, Synth1 and Noisemaker from that list.

Thanks Music Bird.
I also found ChipWave which emulates the old Atari sound modulators.
Then there's QuadraSID by ReFX which was abandonned and ChipSounds by Plogue.
I'll try to participate with an original composition if I have the time!

The title of the original was The Ivory Tower. So this one is called:

Crushing the Ivory Tower

Made with Basic 65
Excellent composition. Nice to listen to.

Guys, discussion and comments go in the June Gossip thread. This is for SUBMISSIONS ONLY. Otherwise, nobody is going to be able to find anything.

Can a mod please clean this thread up?

Thank you.

Particle Wave

This is certainly more Synthwave than Chiptune, but I included a little bit crushing for good measure.

Only instrument used was the Moog One, apart from the drums which are 808 samples.

All Fx are various from Ableton Live and Valhalla Delay.

Good tune, but you're right, it doesn't sound like a chiptune.

This is another 8-bit inspired track I made for the Free month contest 4 years ago.
