This song is going to be my next single. Not too far off now.
Chiptune backdrop and a country style vocal, certainly won’t be everyone’s cup of tea…
Still a demo, love to hear what you think needs work.
This is a private soundcloud link.
Thank you very much.

Hello -- I like it! My favorite part is the boop-be-boop-be-dum fill at 2:33. Nice mix of different sounds throughout. Personally, I think the chiptune twitter works really well.
I don't hear any country at all in this. To me it sounds like an 80s synth-pop tune, especially the vocal. It reminds me of Human League.
I only have two suggestions:
1.) To my ears, the drums get a little monotonous. I know you split out different sounds at different points in the track. But to my ears a little more variation in the beat would be nice.
2.) Just an idea, probably I've been listening too the Cure too much lately. But I'm pining for an Am9 on some of the downbeats. Just one chord played slowly on an electric guitar with plenty of chorus and reverb. Not all the downbeats, just maybe the ones where you are coming out of an instrumental section as an accent.

silenthill2006: Thank you.
Rajiv: I love the Human League. I will have a look at putting some variation into the drums. Interesting downbeat idea, will ponder... Thank you.
Layzer: Thank you.
Kloon: Will play with the panning, bring it in a bit and see how it sounds. Thanks.
Vortifex: I want two peeps to stand either side of me blowing kazzoos! Thank you.
Thank you all for the constructive feedback and positive comments…
Will certainly have a further play.
Cheers

The song is great.
I think the mix needs work:
* Eliminate the panning.
* Make the vox louder.
* Put a low pass filter on those buzzy synths.

You have a nice tune here! Ditto on the buzz though. Maybe just pull back on it with some verb.

Reducing the panning on that sequence was an education!
The buzz is now low passed and v slightly reverbed.
Will post new version soon
Thanks again for the fantastic feedback everyone
