Good work :)
Thanks for the listen and the kind words.

LOL "Electro Retro" would have been an 80's hit - playing somewhere in between "Faded Love" and some Human League stuff :)

The key with the Vocaloid's is not shoe-horning them into genres they don't mesh with. For this song that's perfect. :tu:

Legends of Grimrock: Get to the "light catcher" puzzle yet? I spent too much of my life on that...

Yeah, Vocaloid fits the song well.

As for Legends, I finished the main dungeon twice already and also played 2 others several times.

Another one from my CD "V Pop"

Play With Me

How do I sound give me just a little time
I want to play with you
How do I sound I'm a gonna make you mine
I want this day with you
Give me your heart
Give me your soul
Give me your love so I'm not cold
Here it comes now ready dear

Play with me
Won't you play with me
Please just stay with me
For the rest of my life
Play with me
Have your way with me
All the best you'll see
If you make me your wife
You're gonna soon see
If you just play with me

What do you think can we make it all work out
I know It can be fun
What do you think isn't that what life's about
I know that you're the one
Give me your heart
Give me your soul
Give me your love so I'm not cold
Here it comes now ready dear

Corkscrew Angel

When the drinks are flowing
I can feel things growing
That's when I thank
My corkscrew angel

When they pass the Dewers
Dredged up from the sewers
That's when I need
My corkscrew angel

She comes to my rescue
Opens up my world
Love pours all around me
From my corkscrew girl

When the night is over
I'm so glad I know her
That's when I love
My corkscrew angel

It's been a while since I ventured into Wagtunes Corner.

Checking out "Corkscrew Angel" since I prefer human lead vox. Solid songwriting with a catchy riff and nice lead guitar work.

The production is a little rough but appealing. It has the right energy.

If I may be so bold as to suggest a couple of lyric tweaks to get the text to flow a little better:

1. Change "Corkscrew Angel" to "Dive Bar Angel."
2. Change "I can feel things growing" to "and wild oats need sowing"

I think these are nicer images while still preserving the original idea.

Overall, very enjoyable. Good stuff as always. :tu:

Thanks for the listen and the suggestion.

The lyrics were actually rewritten several times after suggestions from several people from another forum. You should have seen the original.

I guess the point I'm trying to make is if you play a song for 100 different people, you're going to get 100 different suggestions for how to make the lyrics better. It's kind of the nature of our business.

Anyway loved your last track you posted. DT is right. You do sound so much like Phil Oakey of Human League.

I think in a different place and time you could have had a monster career.

I agree. These things are completely subjective.

Very kind of you to say. It would have been interesting to see what would have happened had I gone into music in the mid 80s instead of college and then I.T. I think realistically I would be living in a basement now surviving on ramen noodles but it can be fun to imagine there could have been some success.

Sounds like 80's pop a little. Nice leads and synths. The vocals are fun too. It's quite well produced. Not sure if I would listen to it often again, it seems to be a bit too safe for me. But well done none the less :)

Yeah, it's a fluffy little pop piece, as intended.

Another one from my CD "A Whole Lotta Country"

Now that my production skills have improved this past year, listening to this old track, there is so much wrong with it I don't even know where to begin. For starters, the vocals need some serious high pass filtering. Too much reverb. Should have been put on a send and high passed to get rid of all the mud. The kick and bass need to be EQ'd better and the drums in general need to be beefed up. The song itself is decent but the production really hurts it. If I did this again, I'd do things so differently.

So my thanks to everybody who helped me over the course of this year to get me to the point where I can at least do a decent mix. Because this isn't one of 'em.

The Drain

Watch my life pour down the drain
Days waiting to go insane
Drugs take their toll on my brain
As my life pours down the drain

Watch it pour
Through the door
One last roar
Then I'm no more

Everyone said it would come
Something I could not outrun
Just when my life had begun
Now down the drain watch it run

Watch it pour
Through the door
One last roar
Then I'm no more

Hi! I really like this track. I like how the rhythm changes up on the "My Corkscrew Angel" part. I like the guitar, the vocals, and the background vox. There's something about how the background vox seem to have a different timing than the lead vox that sounds really exciting. Great stuff!

Thanks for the listen and the feedback. Much appreciated.

The background vocals are a combination of live and Vocaloid all running through a harmonizer plugin. So there's a lot of funky stuff going on with the vocals to get that sound.
