From my CD "Gates Of The Lord"

The History Of God

Adam and Eve started it all
Then came the apple and then came the fall
Noah he made an ark to explore
After the world that we knew was no more
Moses he took a forty day hike
Just to see what the desert was like
Parted the Red Sea just for fun
Hold onto your hats cause we've sure just begun

Just like me and just like you
Job he had his troubles too
Abram becomes Abraham
Almost kills his son then bam
God he lets him off the hook
Read it in the holy book
But we're just getting started young one

Samson and Delilah when he lost his might
David and Goliath yeah that was some fight
Everything was bedlam yeah you got that right
And Solomon built his temple day and night

Jonah spent three days and nights inside a fish
Maybe things will settle down we can only wish
Babylon's rebuilt and still more blood is spilt
And Josiah consecrates himself to God

In the year forty four Julius Cesar was no more
And we were still obsessed with war
Jesus Christ he tried to change
The way we lived which was quite strange
Our priorities to rearrange
But they betrayed him at the cross
And we were redeemed by his loss
Apostles went and spread the word
The best one we ever heard
Revelation does proclaim
We'll awake in God's domain

You might find that odd
But it's the history
No big mystery
Yeah it's the history
Of God
Of God
It's the history
Of God

It sounds like a pretty good musical number to me. This is a basic song demo but it gets the musical ideas across and the words. Not exactly a diamond in the rough but maybe a ruby.

Another one from my CD "Gates Of The Lord"

I wrote this for my friend Jay who passed away just after Christmas last year.

Jay's Christmas

When I look outside
And see the children playing
I think of all the days of old
I breathe and I sigh
I laugh and I cry
And reflect on the stories I've told

When I realize that
My life is just a twinkle
And centuries go by so fast
The good and the bad
The happy and sad
And think back to the joys from my past

But this Christmas
I'll think of Jay
Of a lifetime so long ago
I'll think of his smile
How he talked with such style
And I'll wonder if he'll ever know
Yeah this Christmas
I'll think of Jay
And I'll say a prayer or two
And I'll pass it along
In this simple song
Merry Christmas to you

If I could go back to the years of my youth
And do it all over again
One thing I'd have said
Off the top of my head
You were one heck of a joy filled friend

If you have a friend
Who you care for a lot
Don't wait to say how you feel
Because life is brief
And Lord knows we've got enough grief
So you can bargain with God and make your deals

Repeat Chorus

And here's the video version I made for him. He did get to see this just before he died. Yes, he knew he was and this was my way of letting him know that I was thinking of him even though we were many miles apart (He lived in California and I live in NJ)

This one I just finished this morning. It's the final track from my upcoming CD "Divas". This one is a little East meets West.

The Walls Came Down

When all is said and done
We owe it to no one
We got to where we are
All by ourselves

We fought hard to the end
We did not spare a friend
We won the war at hand
With no one else

And when the walls came down
There was this thunderous sound
And we stood up on the mountain
As the people looked around
They saw our victory
Standing tall and free
There was nothing left to see
When the walls came down

And so we stand today
Mighty all the way
Yes we are the best
You can't deny

We'll stand forever more
Righteous to the core
Divas yes we are
For all our lives

Repeat Chorus

Title track from my Symphonic Metal CD "Resisting The Temptation." Hearing Vocaloid do metal is actually kind of funny.

Resisting The Temptation

Calling to me in the dead of the night
I pull away half with shame half with fright

Must not
Must stop
This is just way too bizarre
Not there
Don't dare
Before we go way too far

Resisting the temptation
Resisting the urge to try
Resisting the temptation
The temptation to lay down and die

Destiny waits but it's not mine to be
Demon you are calling out now to me

Go now
My vow
To save myself from your grasp
Til death
My breath
I'll fight you hard to the last

Repeat Chorus

Come to the end as we all must someday
Try as I have you would not go away

I lost
The cost
My soul forever it seems
My sin
You win
I'll see you now in my dreams

Repeat Chorus

From my CD "The Reflecting Pool" inspired by a Sherlock Holmes movie. Lots of dialog taken from the movie on this one.

Musgrave Manor

Musgrave Manor
Invitation to die
Musgrave Manor
There's no reason to cry
They won't make it last
They will kill you fast
Musgrave Manor
Say goodbye

Who knows the secret
Who's gonna keep it
It's in the ritual
Not so unusual

My tribute to Meat Loaf from my CD "Sins Of The Father"

If I Could Go Back (And Do It All Over Again)

It was nineteen eighty four when I made a commitment to you
I swore to my God that the love that I had was true
But I soon came to realize that I didn't have a clue
And it was too late for the mistakes to undo to undo

I didn't understand all the things that I had in my head
It all went so wrong and I killed what we had instead
And I soon came to realize that I screwed it all up
That you would be gone cause you had enough had enough

If I could go back and do it all over again
I wouldn't be the guy that I was back then
I'd be gentle and kind until you would find
The love that can grow between friends
If I could go back and do it all over again

All the money in the world couldn't change what I had done
The love that I had was second to none
But I threw it all away for a roll in the hay
And a moment's drop of fun drop of fun

The heartache and the pain they would follow for sure
I knew in the end you couldn't take it any more
And I would have to leave because you wouldn't believe
That's when I realized the final score

Repeat Chorus

I knew in the end I could only blame myself
There just couldn't be anyone else
And the prison that I'd made would be the price that I paid
And my heart would be displayed up on that shelf

And here I am trying to turn back time
If I had a Tardis that could be mine
Then everything would be just fine

Repeat Chorus

From my CD "Bananas Crackers And Nuts" a little Celtic Folk song.

East Of Eden

Just a little town on a big map miles from here
All the people living in peace without fear
I'd like to go there someday to settle down
Just a little East of Eden in a nice quiet town

Life's just way too short and it goes fast some people say
All the people rushing from day to next day
I only want to slow down ease off the pace
Just a little east of Eden in a nice quiet place

From my CD "A Whole Lotta Country", this is kind of a novelty track with me actually singing lead. Not at all meant to be taken seriously, but this is why I don't sing anymore. lol

My Girlfriend's Rack

I'm drivin' down to Jackson Mississippi
Lookin forward to fishin by a stream
I've got all the things I need to have a good time
If you were with me you'd know what I mean

I got my dog and a beer and my momma in the rear
of my old dodge pickup truck
Drinkin for a livin's gonna land me in prison
If I should run out of luck
I got smokie on my tail as I'm headin off to jail
And I ain't ever lookin back
Hell you should see my girlfriend
That gal's got quite a rack

(Not that that has anything to do with this here song. But it sure rhymes good)

I made a stop at Rosie's bar and grill
She makes the best chilli in the state
Gonna grab a bowl and hit the road again
I just hope to God I ain't too late

Repeat Chorus

(About a 38 double D. Headlights and everything)

Now the highway's getting' awfully crowded these days
Sunday drivers seven days a week
My momma's got her eyes closed prayin' for me
My dog he's too damn scared to even speak

Repeat Chorus

(They kind uh hang to one side when she sleeps)

Well I'm just about to Jackson Mississippi
Guess there's one thing that you'd think was odd
In all my excitations for this journey
I forgot to pack my fishing rod

Repeat Chorus
Hell you should see my girlfriend
She stole my fishing rod
And that's the way this song ends
Don't you find that odd

f**k knows why I would even think of getting into this, again (Let's call it the last time I post to you), but the only two of your pieces I've made it through, then gone back for another listen), are the two (The older piece in the other thread, also) examples of you singing. And I'd happily enjoy either again.

Your pacing is sometimes off (This is likely very difficult to sing), but your tuning is mostly fine. I'm sure the presence and power could be improved despite whatever is causing you deterioration. But even if not, these are still infinitely more pleasant to listen to than that v****oid bullshit you default to using. And in terms of place-markers that might convey the right kind of idea, should you ever end up finding someone you do want to work with, these are far more descriptive of what you are looking for.

Oh! And I think the lyrics are a hoot!

Yeah, I've gotten a lot of positive comments on this one. Most people think it's hysterical. Funny thing is, I wrote it on a dare. Somebody dared me to write a country song that had just about every cliche in it, trucks, beer, etc. So I did.

Now, you probably didn't notice but the Vocaloid gals are doing background vocals on this one. Yeah, they're buried back in the mix but they're there. And yet, you still found this song "tolerable"

Anyway, thanks for the listen. I certainly wasn't expecting it.

Oh, one last thing. Novelty shit like this I can sing. Because it doesn't matter how bad my voice is. But try to suffer through me singing a ballad. It's painful to listen to. And power ballads? Forget it. Hard rock I wouldn't even attempt. I could probably do rap but I hate rap. So there's really very little I could do well enough that I wouldn't be embarrassed to play it for somebody. Plus, forget about doing any songs from a female point of view.

I'm sure I've made my point, so I'll leave it at that.

Actually...
For what it is, I think it's pretty good :tu:
It wasn't me! (well, actually, it probably was) - apparently now an 'elderly' so maybe I forgot!

From my CD "Six Guns And A Chaser"

Kidding Me

I can't believe me ears
I can't believe the things you say
I'm crying all these tears
I'm crying half my life away

But I guess I shouldn't be surprised
Cause I saw deception in your eyes

You gotta be kidding me
You gotta be joking with that smile
You really are full of yourself
But I should have known it all the while
But you're not fooling me
It's all so plain to see
You're nuts if you believe that
You're kidding me

The walk of shame you do
Nobody does it quite like you
And when you're out at night
And screwing everyone in sight

Repeat Pre Chorus and Chorus

No more with your lies
No more tempting eyes
No more will I let you take me in

Repeat Chorus

I’ve said it before, but there is nothing wrong with your voice. You sound a lot like the lead singer from Mercury Rev, and I LOVE them!
