Brass is a welcome addition.
Well done. :)
Thanks. Honestly thought I'd get some flack for ripping off Hendrix.

No it really kind rocks. Great work again. And BTW, I did hear and liked the Jimmy Neutron track. You are on a huge roll!

Poor artists copy, great artists steal! ;) I don't think there is anything new without some sort of nod to the past...

Maybe. But I can't write as quickly as I used to. For one thing, I'm very picky now. If I'm not really inspired, I drop the idea. The next track I'm going back to super icky, sugar coated, pop. I've got the whole thing in my head already but executing it, at least the way I hear it, is going to be a PITA. I know what I'm going for. I'm just not sure I can pull it off.

Should be interesting to hear how it turns out.

I truly believe that everything's already been done. It's just a matter of putting our own spin on it that makes it different.

10th track from my upcoming CD "2020"

This one took a long time to come together.

Starting tomorrow, I'm taking a break from this CD to start working on the RPM challenge, which is going to require me to not take as much time as I've been doing with each song if I'm going to finish 10 tracks in February. So don't expect the same quality as in this CD.

Not That It Matters

I can take you out to any place at all
I can stop on by or maybe first I call
We can grab a bite at Gino's bar and grill
We can eat all night or til you've had your fill

You can tell me true I'm handsome and all that
I can compliment your dress your shoes your hat
We can go back to my place to watch the tube
You can act all sweet and I can act not rude

Not that it matters
Cause how this ends is written in stone
Not that it matters
Cause destiny's left me all alone
We can play this out
Stomp our feet and pout
Pretend that there's no doubt
Not that it matters

We can talk of love and how it all should be
Paint that picket fence and plant that willow tree
Plan our children too how many we should raise
Pray all that we can to Jesus Christ we praise

Repeat Chorus

Fate will have the last word in this play
Doesn't matter what we have to say
There's no arguing with destiny
Let's just end this now while we're still free
Still free
Not that it matters

Repeat Chorus

Not that it matters
Not that it matters
Not that it matters

Quirky intro, but I'm afraid I'm not a fan of that particular sound choice.
When the drums and bass came in , it was a lot better.
Really, really like the chorus.
@2:22 like that brass sound a lot.
@2:54 not a huge fan of the synth screechy lead.
Very nice Bridge and Chorus as usual. :tu:
Heebie jeebies, like some of the brass used in that one.
(Whats the brass library you use?)

The brass library is from this guy.

IMO, the best libraries out there. Great for jazz and doing Chicago, Tower Of Power, and Earth Wind & Fire stuff.

Thanks for the listen and the feedback.

Before I get back to making serious music, I did this one on a dare from one of my daughter's friends. Write a song about a guy's truck leaving him now that we have cars that drive themselves.

My Pickup Left Me At The Alter

She had the most beautiful four wheels
And a trans that purred like a cat
And her battery was always charged
Can you imagine that

She said she'd be my ride
For the rest of my life
Better than any girl
Better than any wife

But my pickup left me at the alter
Drove herself away
Left me standing in neutral
Where I stand this very day
Yeah my pickup left me at the alter
And she's never coming back
Well I hope she drives off a bridge
And I hope her engine cracks

It started out so perfectly
I don't know how it went so wrong
But auto park left me in the dark
And now I'm stuck here writing this song

She broke my heart in two
I miss her steering wheel
I miss her four wheel drive
And I feel just like a heel

Cause my pickup left me at the alter...

Instrumental Break

Yeah my pickup left me at the alter...

I do dig the vocals, man. Like rock/ballad song, nice to listen to :tu: For EDM/Dance it would need more groovy/processed beats/elements 8) Did not dig the rave style synth sound :scared: but that's just my opinion, though ... do not let it hinder your creativity

Yeah, not bad for a totally ridiculous song.

Post

Um...you say not bad...I say...cool. I like it. What a great premise. I have done a few like that. I wrote a country song years ago called "If You had Really Loved Me, You'd have Married Someone Else".

It works. It is solid. I have never asked and won't here...but... oh yea, I said would not here...(PM)
