Evolution Stratosphere - Hammer Ons & Pull Offs

Although there are a couple of sentences in the user guide that describe the general approach to the subject matter using overlapping legato notes, I don't seem to be able to achieve the effect in my midi editor. Could someone please help and clarify how I get two midi notes hammering on/pulling off. There doesn't appear to be any keyswitches for this function either.

Only notes within the legato range will trigger hammer-ons/pull-offs. See Setup page for those parameters.

Thanks. I did finally discover that it was the Legato Range interval that determines the hammer-ons / pull-offs. Nice to have the clarification though.
