Problem with Midi / Strum - All 4 Orange Tree Guitars I just bought!

Hey,
I've just bought these 4 Orange Tree Guitars:
1. Songwriter
2. Steel String
3. Strawberry
4. Stratosphere
With all of them I have the same problem, while using the Strum-pattern function.
When I record/or write-in MIDI notes and include the C0-key for the pattern, the Strum pattern doesn't sound like it's supposed to... And definitely not like on the YouTube instruction videos.
The midi notes I recorded, were quantised afterwards so they're perfectly on the grid. Also the C0-key is perfectly on the grid. When I hit play, the pattern starts, but does not include all notes and just starts acting weird.
Funny thing though; when I place all the midi notes except for the C0-key just a veeeeerrrrrry tiny bit OFF (before) the grid, the Strum-pattern does act like it should. Almost like the Strum-function has to do some calculation and just isn't capable of acting right when the midi notes are 100% quantised.
Is this a known problem/bug?
REALLY hope you guys can help, because at this point I feel like the Strum-pattern is useless.

Due to the threshold in the chord detection (since when playing chords in your keyboard, the notes don't necessarily all trigger at the same exact time), you have to anticipate the chords, even just slightly--just like you would with a keyswitch in other libraries.
It's usually not a problem if you're playing it in the keyboard, but when you're entering notes in the piano roll note-by-note where things are quantized right on the beat, you have to make sure to anticipate things like the chords. Otherwise the chord recognition is going to finalize slightly after the strumming pattern as already begun.
It's something we're looking at improving in order to work for note-by-note sequencing as well as real-time keyboard playing, but until then, just anticipate the chords.

I just sat down to try this after months of owning this. I was surprised to learn this the hard way. This happens when you're doing the strum keys or doing strumming mode.
The problem with programming this in MIDI in my DAW is that the notes to be played have to start before the beginning of the measure if the strum is on the first beat. This makes copy/paste really problematic. I can copy/paste the strums separately from the held notes, but it was a headache to figure out.

Copy and paste huh? Could save yourself a ton of those little tweaks here and there if your daw has a midi track offset. All you gotta do is offset the first chord forward and the midi track delay back by that same amount... works a charm man

I had the same problem, I tried offsetting delaying the chords in my DAW and it does work. This should really be in the manual though.

Please could you elaborate on the offset/delay fix. I'm using Logic - do you mean to manually offset the MIDI region (i.e. drag it back by a 1/16th on the grid) and then delay the MIDI track by that value in ticks (I've just read a 1/4 note in Logic is 960 ticks). I just bought Strawberry last week and am loving the sounds but am trying to get to grips to make the strumming behave consistently. Thanks

This relates to if chord changes aren't happening at the same time as a strum. If that's happening, what you'll want to do is just anticipate the chords in the main playing range by a little bit. That way the chord changes will take place right before the strum happens, ensuring that the strum is played using the chord you want.

Thank you. It's great, I've got it working really now (the glitches were partly due to having an unnecessary East West Piano in my template that I've now got rid of). So, basically, I'm sure the offset/delay all works well, but all I have done is just to drag each chord slightly before the chord change, as it's the key switch key (C0, C#0...) that actually triggers the strum, so make sure that is on the beat itself (so long as the chord mode is set to Automatic Chord (anything but Disabled)). This is great for recording demos with guitars before figuring keys out later with singers!!

hej
try this:
open trackmenu in inspector
go to Delay, type in -50 ms, it must be a negative value
this make it start -50ms before midi note
then you dont have to place midi note slightly before bars
try different value of ms to get the start point you want
im newy to use evolution cos my old imac was to old to use it on
then i remember this from another guitar plugin i tried
was also disappointed it didnt work
hope it works for you
