Love this Module already, so much fun. :love:

But after experimenting with 3 Operators (trying to create DX7 e-piano) i encountered some behaviour, that i think is intended to work differently.

If the volume of an Operator is set to 0 --> Silence... the send Volume to the other operators is affected by that. so if you would like to have only 1 Operator sending out a signal but be modulated by other OP´s, thats not possible.

Try it for yourself and silence the OP2 and OP 3 in the grey bottom row.
This should sound in some way like a DX 7 Piano. couldn´t fine tune it of course due to the circumstances.

I think you have the order that the modulation is being sent wrong.

In the example you posted you have OP1 modulating OP2 & OP3, so turning down the output of OP2 & OP3 in the matrix will just leave OP1 playing on its own, which has no modulation so will just be a sine wave.

the FM modulation works like this (OP1 is modulating OP2, OP2 sent to output using grey slider):

I thought the same at first. You see, in DX7, OP1 can only modulate itself (unless feedback is enabled) OP2 can modulate itself and OP1. OP3 can modulate itself OP2 and OP1. Etc.
In FM8 it is the other way round OP1 (A) can modulate ALL the OPs. OP6 (F) can only modulate itself.

So in short you are doing it backwards.

Step by step:
1. Set it to 6 OPs (same as DX7)
2. Put OP6 on full volume and all others on silent.
3. The slider above OP6 will be purple that means self mod.
4. The slider to the left (of the purple) will be the amount that OP5 modulates OP6.
5. Go left 1 more, now this is how much OP4 will modulate OP6.

It really seems backwards if you are used to DX7.
I made the same mistake as you.
So the way it is here in Melda is the same as FM8.

You will get used to it really quickly though.
You will be glad to hear that I have made all the algorithms from DX7 and FM8 plus lods of my own. They will be added to a future update.

Quick question (maybe a dumb one): I want to try to modulate the volume of an OP eg. OP1. Within the Matrix there is a button right to the volume slider (from silence to 0db). Assigning eg Env 1 to it doesn´t work for me. The result is silence. Funny thing is that if I map Env 1 to any other target it works like intended (eg. assigning Env 1 to Semitones produces a falling pitch using an Env with zero attack, long decay, zero sustain and long release). But somehow it does not work with the "volume" slider within the matrix.

Am I missing something?

Same here. As soon as you add a modulation (even if Volume is at maximum 0dB), Output is muted.

Same here, that is a bug. I will talk to Vojtech.
For me, It also clicks and pops when moving the parameter manually.
