pc keyboard to control vst settings

Hey,
I'd like to use my laptop keyboard to trigger some buttons in a vsti (I don't want to get another controller. I need percu/vibrato or even drawbars as a temporary solution for an organ and not just qwerty as a virtual keyboard). I may be asking too much here, but is there a built in feature in cantabile for this, or maybe a vst that can reroute computer keys to midi ? Is it even possible ?
