Post

Hi

I'd suggest this thread to place the beta version history...

Here I am quoting of the most recent history on Cantabile Beta 2xxx

Beta 2001
A quick post cause I'm busy!

Firstly, thanks for the kind words... good to get some early positive feedback.

Regarding faults, please see http://www.cantabilesoftware.com/support/ for details on how to report faults, creating crash mini dumps and debug logs. The more detail the better.

PM is fine though I prefer email as it's easier for me to keep track off. Email address is on my site on the contact page.

Thanks again
Brad

Good idea though you could have just linked to the release notes page which also lists known issues and unfinished work. http://www.cantabilesoftware.com/suppor ... notes.html

True... anyway, thought because you post things in KVR too... and not everyone has already bought a license where you get the news now in Cantabile itself. (Btw, new version check is a great feature too!). But in KVR you get a notifier automatically without monitoring your site...

I must've bought this (the solo version) the day before this update came out because I just checked and have the 2005 X64 version.

So do I have to uninstall the old or can I just install over top of the old? Also, where do I get the latest version.

BTW, this works incredibly well with PLAY. I'm using Canatbile 2 as an external VST host for Sibelius 5 via Loopbe30 and have access to all 8 gigs of ram for composing.

Can't thank you enough 'TopTen' for this software.

Yes, you can just install over the top and the latest is available from the same location as where you originally downloaded it from. Alternatively you can find the download by going into options -> Resource page -> click the check for updates button which should report updates are available... then click the download button

Offline Renderer - what does that do?

Post

aMUSEd wrote:Offline Renderer - what does that do?
I haven't checked this out but usually it's somethings that transforms for instance a midi file to audio in non realtime - on slow machines it allows to produce audio at all and on fast ones it saves time because audio is calculated much faster than you usually replay it.

In other words, it's an audio calculation process.

Usually you get in trouble with this when you use HW synthesizers as well because those work normally realtime only, so rendering audio can also work realtime only.

That's what I know about it in general...

Other than that, Brad should know... :D
