Hi guys,

just bought Maize and want to import a big bunch of samples (which is obvious for Maize :) ). Now the sample mapping is giving me headaches... I can import a bunch of samples at once, but the automapping is not working for me. I end up with having to click each sample once, then click again and drag it to the desired note. Then I have to change the root note (should be set automatically when dragging the sample). Then I have to expand the mapping area to the left and to the right. Over and over again for each sample. This takes ages for each instrument.

But maybe I just didn't find the right way yet... is there any easy way to batch import lots of samples and map them correctly?

Thanks,
Marco

Hello Marco
I had the same situation you can Drag and Drop but would have to change in the sample mapping the low key to the high key until you get it close to where you want to place them What I do know when creating my own VST is that key number 3 on the keyboard it is really middle C on the keyboard Key "4" you might have to drag to the specific key and right click and root each of them its crazy and time consuming, I have already mentioned this to the developer lets hope there will be changes in the future versions there should be a delete/ copy /move and paste to compensate the auto mapping / Undo and Redo is a must also setting the key to its original key and not the note from the keyboard would be helpful. I also noticed when working with your project you must leave the original samples from its original path once you finalize your VST you may delete them but if you continue your project and your samples or not in its path than it will flag it that it is missing, still there are thing that need to be improved with Maize Sampler it has a lot of potential just very close to near perfection cheers!!!. :)

Hi Zombo, meanwhile I analyzed the Maize format and wrote my own script for batch import and mapping. Otherwise I'd go insane with Maize...

Hi Marco

Could you share that script make it nice and easy for me if you don't mind sharing cheers...

I think that won't be possible. The script is written in PHP and veeeery basic, perfectly suited for my needs only. Far away from being usable for anyone else. But I wouldn't mind sharing the structure, so someone else could develop a proper app for it.
